Warhammer: The Old World - Slow Grow League #2 - Malvern

Crack out the square bases and misfire dice, it's time to play some Warhammer: The Old World!

A Warhammer: The Old World Slow Grow league, based out of General Games Malvern with fortnightly rounds for new and experienced players, encouraging learning and developing both gameplay and hobby/painting skills! 

Greg and Dalton at General Games Malvern are the League Organizers (LOs), and they should be referred to for any queries about the structure or organisation of the league, as well as any in-game rules questions not covered below.

Event Dates and Schedule:

Cost: $20, or FREE ENTRY with any battalion purchase instore.
Participants will also receive 10% off any The Old World product purchased instore for the duration of the league.

Phase 1 (Weeks 1-2 | 27/03 - 10/04): 1250 points
Phase 2 (Weeks 3-4 | 10/04 - 24/04): 1500 points
Phase 3 (Weeks 5-6 | 24/04 - 08/05): 1750 points
Phase 4 (Weeks 7-8 | 08/05 - 22/05): 2000 points

There will also be an RTT run shortly after the league, on Saturday 13/06/2026, which will be run at 2500 points (and will also have a best painted army award, so a good endpoint to aim for).

League Rules:

Rounds will be fortnightly, which should allow plenty of time to organise to play your opponent. Game results should be reported directly on BCP.

The final round will allow each player to vote on their favourite opponents from across the league!

In the event a time to play can’t be organised, a draw for the round will be the default entry. However if it is only one of the players which can’t be available, please get in touch with the LOs, and a concession may be made. With six minis nights at the store in Malvern every two weeks and table space available throughout the days, there should be plenty of opportunities to meet up to play each round.

These will be published as the store closes on the Friday at the start of each round.

Painted Models:
Your armies should be painted, however as it's a slow grow league we do expect painting your models for each increment will take time and won't necessarily always be finished - but doing so will award you League points that contribute to the overall scoring. Please be sure to respect both your and your opponent's time at the table by making an effort.

Terrain:
Instore we have a fairly decent array of fantasy-themed terrain, and we'll do our best to accomodate any requests for specific tables.

Missions will be drawn from the newest matched play guide, and announced alongside pairings each round.

Scoring & Progression:
Players will be awarded League Points (LP) based on their participation. The points breakdown will change as we move through phases of the escalation league. For any painting points to be awarded models will need to be shown to Dalton or Greg instore or on the discord. 

Phase 1 & 2:
Played a Game: 4 points
Painted a new Infantry Regiment (Minimum 10 Models) or Character: 4 points

Phase 3 & 4:
Won a Game: 6 points
Drew a game: 4 points
Lost a Game: 2 points
Painted any new Infantry Regiment or War Machine: 4 points

Phase 5:
Won a Game: 8 points
Drew a game: 5 points
Lost a Game: 3 points
Painted any new Unit: 4 points

Voted Favourite Opponent: 10 points

Prizing:
All entry fees will be put into a pool that will be divided at the end of the league proportionally to points scored, with a bonus for highest placed player and favourite opponent.
