Yu-Gi-Oh! 3v3 Win-A-Box Tournament

When: Sunday 11th January
Time: 11am start
Cost: $20 entry per person ($60 per team)
Format:
50 min Bo3, Rounds of Swiss based on number of players
Cut to Top 4
Advanced Constructed format
Prizing:
1st place team will win 1 booster box per player
2nd place will receive 8 packs each (1 booster box for team)
3rd/4th will receive 4 pack each
All players receive a minimum of 2 boosters plus 1 OTS pack
Additional door prizing to be handed out on the day.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A TEAM PRIOR TO THE EVENT, THERE WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO FORM A TEAM WITH OTHER PLAYERS THAT ARE ALSO WITHOUT A TEAM
3v3 RULES
Player B is the Team Captain and is the primary point of contact in regard to administrative purposes.
Each team must register a Team Name. The Team Name must be written on the top of the Registration Form. Team Names may not be offensive or disrespectful in any manner. Event Staff reserve the right to request a new team name if they feel the name may be inappropriate.
Here are the basic rules:
1. When registering for the tournament, each team will designate one Duellist on the team to be Player A, one to be Player B, and one to be Player C. Team members must keep their team designation throughout the tournament.
2. At the start of the round, Player A will play against Player A, Player B will play against Player B, and Player C will play against Player C. Team members play as individuals – they do not share cards, Decks, Life Points, etc.
3. All members of the team will play a best 2 out of 3 matches.
4. The team with the most Match wins gets the win for the round.
5. A team must register 2 Match wins in order to win the round. If neither team has registered 2 Match wins before time has expired, both teams will receive a Double Match Loss.
COMMUNICATION:
One of the benefits of the 3v3 format is the ability to talk and assist your teammates during the match. BUT there are some conditions.
Player A can only talk to Player B.
Player B can talk to both player A and C.
Player C can only talk to Player B.
Player A may NOT communicate with player C at all – they can not even pass messages through player B.
Due to Player B’s ability to talk to both Player A and C, it may be advantageous to put your best player in middle due to their advanced knowledge of the game.
Neither player leaves their seat in order to communicate.
If a Duelist's Match has concluded and they are communicating with a teammate that is still in an ongoing Duel, they do not hinder the ability of Judges, Staff, or other Duelists to get through the aisles.
The communication does not significantly slow down the pace of any ongoing Match.
The communication does not interrupt another ongoing Match.
The communication is verbal. Written notes cannot be used to communicate between Duelists.
Duelists are responsible for their individual gameplay decisions and actions during their Match. Teammates can offer advice or suggestions, but they cannot make final decisions outside of their own Match.
Players will be expected to understand the rules of Yu-Gi-Oh! and present a tournament legal deck that correctly follows the forbidden and limited list below.
